Welcome to Creative Juice - a newsletter from Creative Camps!
At Creative Camps, we believe that making things with our hands is not only a fulfilling individual pursuit, but a powerful vehicle for connection.
We want to foster a creative community spirit in all that we do. One that is curious, uplifting - and decidedly old-school. Currently, we offer two avenues for this:
One way is through our summer camps.
The other way is what we are launching today: art kits! We have poured the past several months into designing and hand-crafting three magical products for you to check out, just in time for Christmas gifting.
The first collection
This first collection features a retro flower motif, inspired by psychedelic patterns of the 1960's and 70's plus the colorful paper cut-outs of Henri Matisse.
Meet our first three kits - the Retro Flowers collection 🌼
Who are these for?
Like one of our founders, maybe your favorite kinds of gatherings always involve a craft. But maybe you're like another of our founders and think, "That's not really my thing...I'm just not artsy." The good news is we make it easy to have fun making something cool with your hands, no matter your artistic background. Our kits allow for a variety of ages and skill levels - you can spend an hour on a project and be done, or use the materials as a jumping-off point for a more detailed work that evolves over several sessions. Each of our projects gives space for users to make their own creative choices, and take it to their level of interest.
Here are some awesome things to do with our kits:
Enjoy one on your own or gift one to a friend
Invite your child, grandchild, or significant other on a date and work on two together
Host a "craft night" using our kits as the activity. (If you happen to live in the Raleigh-Durham area, we can even host it for you.)
Psst: Our kits are for kids of all ages. Most indicate a recommended age from 8 or so up, but were developed to be just as fun for adults.
Whether you want to explore new art media, find ways to connect with people, or you just enjoy being inspired by some good old-fashioned scoutcore, we'll be serving it all up through Creative Juice. Very gratefully.
Happy Trails to you,
The Creative Camps team - Megan O'Connor, Alder Keene, & Emily Guyton
PS: We said that we offer two main ways of fostering community creativity (kits and camps), but we'd be thrilled for this site to become another way of doing that. If Creative Juice was an actual craft shack, we'd want you to carve your initials in the picnic table and take a Sharpie to the walls. Feel free to start by introducing yourself in the comments - leave your mark!
Love this! I especially love that your kits are for creatives, creative wannabes, AND people who never even thought they were! This comes just as I ponder more darkness after daylight savings time ends. More time for creative juice!
Newsletter looks great and I especially liked “The First Serving”!
