We currently run summer camps in the Raleigh-Durham area.
2025 DATES:
June 23 - 27, 2025
Folk Arts + Retro Vibes Camp - Half OR Full Day. In the mornings we’ll bring back crowd favorites from our most popular camp of 2024 (Folk Arts), like embroidery and beading - and introduce new projects from around the world such as mosaic memory pots, mini sculptures, and other eclectic and functional pieces. Afternoons will emulate a week in a lakeside bunkhouse, combining a modern spin on classic craft shack projects (elevated macaroni art, embroidered badge-making) with all-American nostalgia: think team-building games, theme days, a tie-dye bar, relays, and general “scoutcore.”
Location: Edenton Street UMC, 228 W Edenton St, Raleigh, NC 27603 *
June 30 - July 3, 2025 (No camp July 4)
Sewing + Color Lovers Camp - Half OR Full Day. Dive into the world of fiber arts and color this summer! This crafty camp is perfect for students who love to experiment. In the mornings we’ll learn how to stitch cute stuffies, dye fabric with batik techniques, and sew personalized pillows. This camp will give students the tools and inspiration to bring fiber arts projects to life. In the afternoons we’ll be inspired by the quirky collages of Henri Matisse, psychedelic floral patterns of the 1960s and 70s, and the bold lettering of today’s graphic artists. Campers will learn about color theory, principles of design, and explore various media such as embroidery, paper-cutting, watercolor, and acrylics.
Location: Edenton Street UMC, 228 W Edenton St, Raleigh, NC 27603
July 28 - August 1, 2025
Nature Sketching & Landscape Painting - Half OR Full Day. The beauty of the natural world provides endless inspiration for painters. This camp is designed for students who get excited about exploring nature and want to learn how to develop colorful landscapes. In the mornings we’ll go on walking field trips outside for sketch sessions exploring mediums such as gouache, watercolor, pen and ink in a sketchbook. In the afternoon sessions we’ll build techniques in acrylic to fully express dynamic terrain using our sketches as inspiration. A strong focus will be on color theory and you’ll develop skills in mixing and applying colors to create mood, atmosphere and a sense of harmony.
Location: Research Triangle High School, 3106 East, 3106 NC-54, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709
*Please note: If fewer than 6 campers, the location for the first week will move to Megan’s studio in Forest Park, downtown Raleigh 27605.
Our summer camps emphasize:
inter-disciplinary connections (art + history, creative writing, ecology, movement, etc)
time outdoors
mentorship
and skill-building.

Want to book your own “camp”?
Programs beyond our scheduled summer camps can be requested privately. This just means that we don't have particular dates, locations, or themes set - but would love for folks to contact us about booking a party, workshop, or camp for their own group and its needs/interests. Current theme offerings include: Folk Arts, Zine Making, Meditative Watercolor, Retro Vibes, and Floral Embroidery, and we are always building out more curriculum. We can accomodate groups of 4-6 in our downtown Raleigh studio; larger groups will need to host us at their location or coordinate another space for us. Email us with inquiries! creativecampsnc@gmail.com
